This week was all about our project pitches! Abby very graciously presented solo as I was in desperate need of a mental health day. Below is an audio recording of our pitch and feedback.

At the very centre of our project is live looping. We split it into 3 main sections:

  1. A performance using live looping. This is how we will demonstrate our understanding of the technology, and exercise a bit of our own musical, creative skills, covering a contemporary pop song.

  2. Write and record a tutorial song. This will be an opportunity to demonstrate learning and process in a fun, lighthearted way. We want our imaginary student to be able to remember and retain information from this song.

  3. Create a resource. We really believe in the fun and value of this task, and want to create clear and accessible instructions for any music educator to engage with.

Our feedback affirmed what we already knew; our project is HUGE. However there are elements that still need tweaking/aren't essential to what we want to achieve so I have no doubt this will continue to change and we continue to chat. And finally, as my inspiration and just for a bit hold-on-till-the-end-of-sem joy, here is one of my favourite pieces using live vocal loops.
